After Priyanka Chopra’s Quantico, Angelina Jolie to replace Sandhya Bindani

It is no news that Hollywood has started casting Indian movie stars in fairly meaty roles on a regular basis. From Anil Kapoor to Irrfan Khan to Amitabh Bachchan and now recently Priyanka Chopra, who is playing an FBI agent in the TV series named Quantico, Indian actors are making their presence felt in the west. While the Indian actors and audience seem happy about it, the ones suffering are the directors and producers who are finding it difficult to get time from these Bollywood stars.

To counter this move by the film and TV serial makers from the west, Rohit Raj Goyal, has taken a rather bold step and managed to rope in Angelina Jolie for the lead role of “Sandhya Beendani” in his famous daily soap named “Diya aur Baati hum”

One of THB’s correspondents spoke to the excited Angelina Jolie who exclaimed “I’ve won an Oscar, worked as special envoy for the UN, I’m mom of six, but this indeed is the toughest assignment of my life, the character ‘Sandhya Bindani’ is a dream and it took me 38 years to grab such an opportunity’’. The role presents several challenges as Jolie will have to play a house wife, a master chef, an IPS officer, a melodious singer, a dancer, a family doctor, a fighter, a team leader and 45 other such characters in a single role.

Jolie has already begun the preparations and is believed to be her Hindi lessons from a senior literature guru from Sahitya Akademi who is now free after the Bihar elections and award returning gimmicks. She is also practicing how to cry without using glycerin, veteran actress Kirron Kher is mentoring her in the same. Jolie said that it is an honor to work with Legends like ‘Bhabho and Suraj’, this is going to be a great learning opportunity.
